Saddle Sore 1000 route

The provisional route is:

Leg 1
Galway -> Limerick -> Cork -> Waterford -> Wexford -> Enniscorthy -> Lucan -> Galway

Leg 2
Galway -> Westport -> Castlebar -> Sligo -> Lettkenny -> Donegal -> Portrush -> Belfast -> Dundalk -> Lucan -> Galway

Saddle sore 1000

In september I am attempting to do a 1000 mile motorcycle ride in 24 hours. This entails over 16 hours of driving in a figure of 8 around Ireland.

I am doing this to raise money for the Tesco charity of the Year Aware. Taken from their website “Aware is a voluntary organisation formed in 1985 by a group of interested patients, relatives and mental health professionals, whose aim was to assist that section of the population whoses lives are directly affected by depression”

I am following a route suggested on the Iron Butts Ireland. To do the ride to make it quality I have to prove by receipts that I have taken a journey that is over 1000 miles

I am hoping that I can using some form of tracking using a mobile phone to a website so that people who are interested can follow me online. I had hoped to use an Apple device but at this stage cannot find an app that will work.

The date of the ride is not fully set but hoping to do it on the 1st of September 2012. I will be doing at least 1 sighting run more than likely the northern half of country as I know the southern half fairly well.
